April is finally here and that of course means that April Fool’s has also arrived. This year we announced the first ever Dick’s Drive-In almost semi-pro pickleball team. We might not have an actual team but we did launch our new Pickleball Sets. It’s kind of a big dill if I do say so myself. With April Fool’s over for 2024,I thought it would be fun to take a look at some of my personal favorites from years past.Â
On January 28th, we celebrated the 70th Anniversary of Dick's Drive-In! Back in 1954, our first location in Wallingford opened and we have been serving up delicious memories ever since. To help us celebrate we asked some of our most tenured employees to share a few of their favorite Drive-In memories and we are back with part two of their stories.
This week we take a quick break from all of the holiday goodies to take a look back at one of the biggest moments in recent Dick's Drive-In History. After 37 years of waiting for a new restaurant, Edmonds opened in 2011. Seven years later the Drive-In finally headed south of Seattle and opened in Kent on December 12, 2018. Today is Kent's 5th birthday and we are sharing memories from that day from some people very close to the Drive-In, Dick's son Jim, and his wife Fawn.Â
This week we take a quick break from all of the spooky to take a look back at one of the biggest moments in Dick's Drive-In History. After 37 years, the Drive-In finally expanded and opened a new restaurant in 2011. That restaurant was of course our Edmonds location, and this Friday, Oct. 20th, it turns 12 years old!Â
If you have been to one of our 9 locations around the greater Seattle area, you may have noticed a certain bovine keeping an eye on all of our restaurants. If you haven't, I'm betting you will now! That adorable-looking cow is actually the infamous Dick's Drive-In steer. Read his history here!
