Employee Appreciation Day
Today is National Employee Appreciation Day and we know that a huge part of our success all these years has been because of our amazing crew. Since we opened our windows in 1954 we have employed more than 7,000 people! We appreciate our crew so much and wanted to share some fun facts with you!
Number of employees:

- in 2024: 405
Number of years the most tenured (current) employee has been with Dick’s Drive-In: 41
In the early days of the Drive-In women served ice cream and were called “Malt Girls.”
Dick’s Drive-In Alumni have gone on to become:
- An international ballet dancer
- Father of a famous actor
- A radio talk-show host
- Police officers
- Zoo keeper
- And so much more!

Interesting stats. I was one of that 10-12 group in 1954! French Fry King @ 45th!
I grew up just north of the Lake City location back in the 80’s. I would go there every chance I’d get for a double, fries and a chocolate shake. Now, I live too far away(Oklahoma to be exact) to enjoy your consistently delicious food and great customer service! I sure would like to know who the father of a famous actor you mention was that worked there! Keep up the good work!
