70th Anniversary Celebration
This past Sunday we celebrated the 70th Anniversary of Dick's Drive-In! Back in 1954, our first location in Wallingford opened on January 28th and we have been serving up delicious memories ever since. To help us celebrate we asked some of our most tenured employees to share a few of their favorite Drive-In memories. Share your favorite memory with us in the comments!

"In 2013 Dick's had a cool event where they were hosting a block party on the street in front of the Broadway Dick's. At the time I was a training manager and was scheduled to end my day there, after work a few of us decided to go check it out. It was exciting, they had several artists there performing as well as multiple stands for concessions and a beer garden. We were provided with some drink tickets and went out to explore the festivities. One of the headliners of the event was Sir Mix-a-Lot which of course we all know has a special connection to Seattle and Broadway Dick’s in particular so we were thrilled. We ran up into the crowd to watch the set, after a few songs a co worker of mine Brandi suddenly said “We’re going up on that stage” and before I knew it I was following her up there! We danced behind Sir Mix-a-Lot while he sang My Posse’s on Broadway. It was definitely an experience I’ll never forget."

"My very first closing shift as a new employee was at 45th and it was me and nine other people, all male. We had a full patio of customers which I hadn't really experienced before. Muzak starts playing the Peter Cetera song "Glory of Love". This was a fairly popular song back in the day. We're all working very hard but when Peter Cetera starts belting out the line "Like a knight in shining armor from a long time ago..." all of us, even the manager, sing along out loud. Not planned just randomly in unison. The customers all loved it and we all started laughing and it really just relaxed me in general. Now whenever I hear that song I remember that night and it always makes me smile."
