Share your memories with us!
One thing I've learned in the past few years of running the online store is that we have fans all over the place. In two years I have shipped out Dick's Drive-In merchandise to every US state, several US territories, and at least 8 other countries! With that being said there is a chance you just might run into another fan in so many different places around the world! And I can tell you from personal experience that when you do it brings up the feeling of home, whether you currently live in the PNW or used to at some point. It also brings a big smile to your face and that is one of our absolute favorite things to see from our absolute favorite people. You might not know it but you, our customers and fans, are definitely our favorite people. We wouldn't be where we are or who we are today without you. Since y'all are so amazing we wanted to give you a chance to share your stories and memories. (Bonus points if they happen to involve some of our awesome merch!) Did you meet your spouse in line? Maybe you made a new friend in a foreign place after they complimented your cool Dick's Drive-In swag. The possibilities are endless and I want to hear them! Use the link below to share your story and it just might be featured in an upcoming blog post!
If you need a little inspiration here is one of my favorite stories from my travels. Back in July of 2021, we released our 80s-inspired retro line full of neon colors and paint splatters. Right after that, I was off to Las Vegas for some fun in the sun. Our group decided we had to check out Meow Wolf's Omega Mart at Area15. If you've never been imagine a choose-your-own-adventure in real life set in the middle of an interactive art exhibit. Throw in lots of black lights, a few slides, and a lot of crazy and you have the Omega Mart. This also seemed like the perfect place to wear the new neon, super black light reflective tank top from our retro collection. So in we go, and as we are exploring I find myself crawling out of a tube from one room to the next when a stranger stops in their tracks, stares at me and then yells "you're from Seattle!" My first thought was "ok strange man, I'm gonna need to know why you know that" but then I quickly realized he had spotted my Dick's shirt. I got a big smile on my face and told him I was from Seattle. He told me how much he loves Dick's Drive-Ins and then he disappeared into the next room. It was a great slice of home even though we were over 1,000 miles away.
I’ve been going to the Dick’s Broadway location since I was a student at Seattle Central in 2004. I would go almost daily, and always get a Deluxe, fries and large Root Beer. I certainly don’t go daily anymore, but try to keep it to once or twice a month. I still order the same thing, but I’ll switch it up with a strawberry shake in the summer months! Also, my favorite band, The Presidents of the United States of America, mentions Dick’s in their song L.I.P…were guys aware?! Thanks for all of the years of amazing great food and service!!
